USA: BBC America To Run Doctor Who Marathon Ahead Of 2017 Christmas Special

Christmas Day for Whovians means, of course, Doctor Who Christmas Special Day, and as usual BBC America will be ramping up the excitement among American fans through one of their week long Doctor Who Takeovers. Gallifrey takes an exclusive hold of the BBCA schedule for the whole of the week up to Christmas Day, starting from 9am ET on Tuesday 19th December.

Stand and deliver! Get a first glimpse of The Highway Rat in action as part of the BBC One's Christmas collection of family films and animated adventures. David Tennant gives voice to the ravenous rodent in a 30-minute adaptation of the enchanting picture book by Julia Donaldson and Alex Scheffler.

The Highway Rat also features the voices of Rob Brydon, Nina Sosanya, Tom Hollander and Frances de la Tour and is produced by Magic Light Pictures, the team behind other Donaldson and Scheffler adaptations The Gruffalo, Stick Man and Room On The Broom. First published in 2011, The Highway Rat is about a ravenous rat who craves buns, biscuits and all sweet things. Tearing along the highway, he searches for sugary treats to steal, until his sweet tooth leads him to a sticky end. The whole family will enjoy this swashbuckling tale of bandits and biscuits!

Watch David Tennant Guest Star In Thunderbirds Are Go Today

David Tennant's eagerly anticipated guest appearance in Thunderbirds Are Go airs on CITV and ITV today.
David voices billionaire inventor Tycho Reeves, the inventor of the sound barrier-smashing Hypercar. When the first run of the inventor's newly-constructed hyperloop begins to malfunction, International Rescue must try to find a way to slow down the fast-moving ride.

Thunderbirds Are Go is a remake of the 1960s television series Thunderbirds created by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson that follows the exploits of International Rescue, a secret life-saving organisation equipped with technologically advanced rescue craft for sea, land, air and space rescue. Central to the organisation's work is a fleet of five vehicles named the Thunderbirds, each piloted by one of the Tracy brothers.

The new series has has attracted a host of big names guest stars, including Emilia Clarke, Adam Hills, Alan Ford, Asa Butterfield, Kathryn Drysdale, Mark Gatiss, Ruby Wax and Togo Igawa.

Guest Panellists Announced For Have I Got News For You Hosted By David Tennant

David Tennant will occupy the host's chair next Friday for a new episode of the BBC's long-running panel show Have I Got News For You. The satirical news quiz sees regular team captains Paul Merton and Ian Hislop face off as they poke fun at the biggest and strangest news stories of the week. 

The guest panellists joining the show next week have been announced as Labour MP Angela Rayner and hirsuite funnyman Joe Wilkinson. 

Watch Have I Got News For You on BBC One on Friday 15th December at 9pm. 

An extended edition, Have I Got A Bit More News For You, will air on Monday 18th December at 10.45pm, also on BBC One England (viewers in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales should check local listings as airtimes vary).
