The Evening Standard Theatre Awards

David will be attending The Evening Standard Theatre Awards at the Royal Opera House on Monday to present the editor's award.
Richard Wilson is hosting the ceremony, which will be attended by actors Benedict Cumberbatch, Adrian Lester, Robert Lindsay, Amanda Root, Julia McKenzie and Lia Williams. Harriet Walter will announce the winner of best actor from a shortlist of Kenneth Branagh, for Donmar's Ivanov; David Calder, for King Lear at the Globe; and Chiwetel Ejiofor, for his Othello, also at the Donmar.
Maureen Lipman will reveal the best play from contenders Black Watch by Gregory Burke; Now Or Later by Christopher Shinn; and The Pitmen Painters by Lee Hall.
Jude Law will present the best director award from a shortlist of Michael Boyd for the RSC's cycle of history plays at the Roundhouse; Michael Grandage, artistic director of the Donmar Warehouse, for Ivanov, The Chalk Garden and Othello; and John Tiffany for Black Watch. The outstanding newcomer prize will be presented by Anna Chancellor.
