VIDEO: Richard II Video Production Diary Week 4

In the latest video production diary from the Royal Shakespeare Company documenting the journey from rehearsals to stage of their production of Richard II, the focus is on the work of the voice coach.

The RSC Head of Voice Lyn Darnley explains her role as she develops links with the company in the rehearsal room and works with individual actors on a one-to-one basis to support them to develop their posture, breathing and articulation, as well as working with them to bring together their physical voice with the language and text of the play. The clip shows her using her repertoire of vocal tools and techniques with two of the company: Miranda Nolan and Gracy Goldman, who both play Ladies-in-Waiting.

The video also shows the cast at work in the rehearsal room, under the direction of Gregory Doran.
