New Gracepoint Twists Lead To Big Jump In Live +3 Ratings

As the buzz around the new plot twists of Gracepoint kicks in, it could be that the series has won itself some new viewers as it steps up a pace. The Live +3 ratings for Thursday 13th are out today, which take account of the viewers watching via PVR and other catch up services on the three days following the original broadcast. Gracepoint showed a spectacular jump of 63%, up from the final overnight figure of 0.8/2  among adults 18-49 to 1.3/4.

Episode 7 of the FOX TV drama showed its biggest divergence yet from the plot of the original show Broadchurch as a second child vanished, a brand new suspect came under police scrutiny and Emmett Carver's daughter showed up. The overnight ratings enjoyed a small step up from the previous week, climbing +0.1 back to the steady 0.8 it had been holding in the previous weeks. This was no doubt also in part due to series star David Tennant's presence on a number of TV and radio talk shows in the USA earlier in the same week.

Bones, which preceded Gracepoint on Fox on Thursday also gained, up 46% to 1.9/6

Gracepoint explores events in a small town in California after a young local boy is found murdered. David Tennant and Anna Gunn play Detectives Emmett Carver and Ellie Miller who are leading the hunt for the killer. The series has three more episodes left to air but will take a break on the 27th November for Thanksgiving.

Watch Episode 8 of Gracepoint on FOX at 9pm/8c on Thursday 20th November
