PHOTOS: David Tennant In 2015 - The Images That Define The Year



A look back at the images that defined David Tennant in 2015...

January saw the launch of the second series of Broadchurch on ITV in the UK and the release of a batch of new promtional photos from the show. 
This shot of David and Olivia Colman as Alec Hardy and Ellie Miller became the stand out image of the series.



He and Olivia were also guests on the BBC chat show The Graham Norton Show to promote the series...

Also that month David was presented with the Special Recognition Award at the National Television Awards at the O2 arena in London where he was shocked to receive the surprise award that celebrated his outstanding success as an actor on TV. His friends, family and colleagues teamed up to speak of their admiration for him as an actor and as a man.


Another appearance in January saw David attend the Radio Times Covers Party where he was presented with a special award commemorating his record breaking 25 cover appearances in the last ten years.


February saw David attend the annual WhatsOnStage Awards where he walked away with yet another award, this time for his work in the theatre, as he was presented with the Best Actor In A Play award for his portrayal of Richard II in the Royal Shakespeare Company's production of Richard II at the Barbican in London.


February also saw David breaking another record, this time as he took part in the classic BBC radio panel show, Just A Minute. He managed a perfect minute on the subject 'Exit, pursued by a bear' - the famous stage direction from Shakespeare's play The Winter's Tale, on what was his debut appearance.


David was featured on a special collector's cover for Doctor Who Magazine in March, when they celebrated ten years since the resurrection of the show. Covers with Christopher Eccleston, Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi made up the set.


Sticking with March and as work began on his big 2015 project, Jessica Jones, David popped by the New York offices of Marvel to see where the magic happens and generally geek out...


March also saw David make his debut fan convention appearance in the USA, when he visited Wizard World Raleigh, much to the delight of his American fans.


In April we saw the first images of David on the set of Jessica Jones in New York. His stony faced stare gave fans a taster of what was to come..


May saw David reunited with his former Doctor Who co star Billie Piper as the pair headed to their first joint US fan convention in Philadelphia...


June saw it announced that David had signed up to play the role of Mason Savoy in the new movie Chew. And this photo of him in the recording studio in New York was released...


On to July when David joined his Jessica Jones co star Krysten Ritter at the HFPA press conference at the London Hotel in New York to promote the series.


September arrived and there was more awards success with David as he was presented with the Best Actor award for his role as Alec Hardy in Broadchurch at the TV Choice awards in London.


September also saw the release of the first official still of David in character as the evil Kilgrave in Marvel's Jessica Jones...


October brought exciting news for Doctor Who fans when Big Finish announced that David and Catherine Tate had teamed up as the Tenth Doctor and Donna Noble once more to record a collection of audio adventures...


This month also saw David appear as a guest host on the highly popular BBC panel show Have I Got News For You...


And as a guest on the Sky One comedy music quiz Bring The Noise...


November saw a stream of public appearances and interviews for David as Marvel's Jessica Jones dropped on to Netflix.

He travelled to New York to attend the show's star studded premiere...



Took part in a round of interviews for online media outlets...


And appeared on the US chat show The Late Show With Seth Meyers...


At home in the UK he also promoted the series with yet more press interviews...


And  an appearance on the ITV chat show The Jonathan Ross Show...


As well as the morning magazine show Good Morning Britain...

And a round of radio interviews...


December saw David join his Jessica Jones co star Krysten Ritter at what was his first major fan con appearance to promote the series, when they both travelled to CCXP in Brazil...


David rounded off the year with an appearance on Channel 4's Very British Problems At Christmas...


And a guest spot in the Absolute Radio panto as Dave Vader in December...
