VIDEO INTERVIEW: David Tennant & Krysten Ritter On Control & Empowerment In Jessica Jones

In a new interview clip from the CCXP fan convention in São Paulo, Brazil last weekend, David Tennant and Krysten Ritter contemplate the themes that run through their new Netflix series, Marvel's Jessica Jones.

In conversation with Beatriz Amendola from UOL the show's stars were asked about the recurring themes of control, abuse and sexism and whether these had been discussed during production. Krysten said she felt it was more of a redepmtion story, while David explained: "Ultimately, it's about empowerment, and that's a journey from a scary place to a powerful place."

They also talk about the attraction of having series villain Kilgrave's powers of mind control. "It's hard to imagine a better power. It's also hard to imagine how you would stop yourself being corrupted by it," says David.
