The David Tennant comedy feature What We Did On Our Holiday will have its UK terrestrial premiere on BBC Two over the festive period. The 2014 movie also starred Rosamund Pike and Billy Connolly and follows a family in crisis trying to hold things together during a trip to Scotland to celebrate a family birthday. What We Did On Our Holiday is the first film project by Andy Hamilton and Guy Jenkin, the creators of the UK sitcom Outnumbered and was filmed on location in the Scottish Highlands.

The film is one of four BBC Films productions making their BBC TV debuts over Christmas and the New Year and is part of a feature season that also includes The Lady In The Van, Pride and Saving Mr. Banks.

What We Did On Our Holiday is a heart-warming, uplifting comedy for all the family. Doug (David Tennant) and Abi McLeod (Rosamund Pike) and their three children travel to the Scottish Highlands for Doug's father Gordie's (Billy Connolly) birthday party. They're on the verge of divorce but are determined to keep the news a secret so as not to ruin Gordie's special day. But surrounded by relatives, the kids innocently reveal the ins and outs of their family life and many intimate details about their parents. But it turns out there is a bigger crisis to face...
